Rooms & Architecture
The Lodge at Wakulla Springs offers rooms with views of one of the largest springs in the United States. Guest rooms contain period furniture from the 1930s and do not have televisions, encouraging guests to explore the surrounding park. The hotel operates the only surviving Art Deco elevator still in use, which provides access to the upper floors.
Dining
The Edward Ball Dining Room serves American cuisine with a buffet menu that includes options for vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free diets. The Parlor offers a traditional soda fountain with ice cream treats and light meals. Wine and champagne are available at the bar, and the snack bar provides packed lunches for guests heading out on hikes or boat tours.
Activities & Wildlife
Daily ranger-led boat tours (Jungle Cruise) depart from the lodge and provide views of manatees, alligators, deer, turtles, and numerous bird species. Guests can join walking tours that detail the history and craftsmanship of the lodge, including its hand-painted lobby ceiling from 1937. Hiking and cycling trails start directly from the property, and the swimming area in the 69-degree spring water is open during warmer months.
Family & Amenities
The property includes a children's playground and outdoor picnic areas for family use. Board games and puzzles are available in the shared lounge, and the garden provides space for relaxation. Free private parking on-site and an electric vehicle charging station are provided, along with luggage storage at the 24-hour front desk.
Location & Surroundings
The lodge sits inside Edward Ball Wakulla Springs State Park, a 6,000-acre preserve of Spanish-moss draped woodlands. St. Marks Wildlife Refuge and Apalachicola National Forest are within a short drive, offering additional hiking and wildlife observation. The property is 23 km from Tallahassee Regional Airport and 26 km from Florida State Capitol.
